The community is invited to pack a picnic lunch, sit on the bluff at John Wayne Marina and watch as Sequim Bay Yacht Club(SBYC) members parade their boats in the bay in front of the Irrigation Festival Court onboard a boat, and watch the boats as they try to do maneuvers. At about 3:30, the community is invited to meet in front of the marina's flagpole for the traditional ceremonies: raising of the flag, shooting of a cannon, blessing of the fleet and a declaration that Opening Day (for water activities by all boaters) is officially open! This concludes the public events. |
