CUISINE
Salmon, steelhead, trout, oysters, mussels, razor clams
and the famous Geoduck clam. Organic farm fresh eggs and poultry,
delicious artisan cheeses, raw milk and cream from a herd of Jersey
cows. Peninsula farms, such as Nash's Organic Produce, supply local
restaurants, grocery stores and farmers' markets with fresh
raw ingredients. Farmers, restaurants and hotels have successfully
endorsed an "eat local" attitude and it shows in
our local cuisine. Ask your local lodging for their favorite
places to eat on the Peninsula.

The North Olympic Peninsula's climate possesses moderate temperatures
with few regional extremes because of its location relative to
the ocean. This makes the area suitable for growing multiple varieties
of cool weather grapes. This presents an interesting opportunity
for the wine industry to develop local vineyards.
WINE
Wine from the region's boutique wineries pair nicely with our Olympic
Coastal Cuisine. While most of the grapes for local wine are
from Eastern Washington's most esteemed vineyards, some wineries
are producing wines with locally-grown grapes.
